While working for the University of Waterloo's Federation of Students (FEDS), I was responsible for creating a number of different graphics for events and clubs across campus. The logo above was one of the designs I created for Waterloo's Winter Welcome Week, an event which happens every school term. I was given some instruction to create a logo that resembled writing on an ice rink. Due to the specificity of the instructions, I felt it would be easiest to create this effect by using a graphics tablet. To create the above design, I traced over cursive text and connected all the letters to create the "skating" effect. The circles around the text serve to tie the piece together and direct the eye around the design.
